According to CNN, citing three US defense officials, the United States launched a new round of strikes against Yemen's Houthi forces on Wednesday night, targeting their weapons storage facilities, including underground installations. One official revealed that the strike was carried out by the US Air Force's B-2 "Spirit" strategic bomber. US Defense Secretary Austin and US Central Command also confirmed the action.

The statement says this is the first time the US military has deployed this type of stealth strategic bomber to attack Yemen's Houthi forces since the US initiated the relevant operations.

Both U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and U.S. Central Command confirmed the news. Austin stated that on the night in question, U.S. forces launched a series of strikes using bombers against a "reinforced underground weapons storage site" in areas controlled by the Houthi militia in Yemen. Austin noted that he authorized these strikes under the direction of President Joe Biden, aiming to "further weaken" the capabilities of the Houthi militia.

According to a message posted by the U.S. Central Command on social media, both the U.S. Air Force and Navy participated in the recent strikes targeting underground weapon storage facilities of the Houthi militia. "U.S. Air Force and Navy assets, including the U.S. Air Force's B-2 'Spirit' stealth bomber, were involved in this operation," the U.S. Central Command press release stated.

Citing the latest Reuters report, according to the Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah TV, the Yemeni capital Sana'a and Saada city were attacked by air strikes early Thursday (date). As of the time of writing, there has been no response from the Houthi forces in Yemen regarding the above news.

It is understood that following the outbreak of a new round of Israel-Palestine conflict last year, the Yemeni Houthi forces have repeatedly attacked targets in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea waters using drones and missiles. Since January of this year, the United States and the United Kingdom have launched multiple air strikes against Houthi targets, resulting in casualties. On January, the leader of the Houthi forces announced an expansion of the scope of attacks on ships "associated with Israel" to the southern waters of the Indian Ocean.
