North Korea: U.S. and its followers' attempts to impose sanctions on the DPRK will only strengthen its power.
North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui delivered a statement titled "Countries Participating in Illegal Sanctions Against North Korea Will Pay the Price."
The conversation states that the United States and its following countries have violated the universally recognized principles of international law, which are centered on sovereign equality and non-interference in internal affairs, attempting to restore the sanctions and suppression framework against North Korea. The expert group that has been overseeing the implementation of UN "sanctions resolutions" over the years has disappeared. The so-called "multinational sanctions monitoring group" that has replaced it is illegal and a negation of the UN Charter.
Choe Son Hui expressed grave concern and regret over the United States' attempt to pursue hegemonic interests by arbitrarily altering the international order, calling it a challenge to international justice and the most blatant act of infringing upon sovereignty, and strongly condemned and opposed it.
Choe Son Hui quoted the statement of the top leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, saying that the suffering imposed on the North Korean people by the United States will turn into strong anger against the United States, becoming a decisive factor and strategic opportunity to increase North Korea's strength.
Choe Son Hui emphasized that North Korea's resolve to defend its national sovereignty and development interests, as well as to maintain regional and global peace and security, is unwavering in the face of hostile intentions from the United States and its follower nations.
Choe Son Hui stated that the United States will also bear its due responsibility for the incident of South Korean drones infiltrating Pyongyang.
The expert panel of the United Nations Security Council's North Korea Sanctions Committee concluded its term and disbanded on the designated date. The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the same day that to compensate for the lack of oversight mechanisms for North Korea sanctions, the United States, South Korea, and other countries have established a "Multinational Sanctions Monitoring Group."
