"Clear-headed Kid Brother" fell off the trail and cried in fright, but the first call was not to his mother.
Recently, in Yongping County, Dali, Yunnan, a young boy accidentally fell off a pedestrian path while playing with his friends in the park at night, landing by a ditch about a meter below. After being rescued by firefighters, his mother asked him, "Why didn't you call me first?" The boy, though scared and crying, replied with clarity, "I was very scared at the time, but I thought of calling the firefighters, because I knew they would rescue me quickly."
That night, the Yongping County Fire Rescue Brigade received an emergency call. A boy, sobbing intermittently on the other end of the line, said, "I'm trapped at Binhe Park, and I can't get out." The dispatcher quickly inquired about the details. Although "Little Brother" was scared and crying, he clearly stated his location and described the surroundings: "There's a gas station nearby, and above it is a friend of mine wearing black. Please come and save me quickly." "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, we're coming right away," the dispatcher comforted the child over the phone, and the fire rescue team immediately set out to assist.
When the firefighters arrived near the park, the "black-clothed friend" mentioned in the phone call was waving his hands on the roadside, calling out to the firefighters: "Quick, save my friend, I'll take you down." Following the "black-clothed friend," the firefighters quickly found the child who had called for help. One firefighter immediately found a lower spot and jumped down to the boy's side, continuously comforting the little boy and using branches to shoo away mosquitoes and clear away spider webs nearby. Meanwhile, the firefighters on the trail lowered a ladder several meters long to the position where the boy was trapped.
"Come, let uncle carry you." The frightened little boy, however, sobbed and said, "I want to climb by myself." Subsequently, with the protection of the firefighters, the little boy slowly climbed up the ladder to the path. Upon inspection, it was found that the boy had only minor abrasions on his legs and was otherwise unharmed. The firefighters then contacted the boy's mother and took him to the hospital for further examination. When the mother arrived at the hospital, she repeatedly thanked the firefighters, and the still-shaken boy hugged his mother and cried again.
Firefighters highly praised the composure of the "Little Brother": "From the time he called for help to when we rescued him, he was crying the whole time, looking quite frightened, but throughout the entire process, he remained calm and brave. Not only did he successfully seek help from us with his companion, but he also insisted on climbing up by himself." Kudos to the "Clear-headed Little Brother"! Firefighters, you've worked hard!
