According to a report on the Fox Business Channel website, in response to a previous report by The Wall Street Journal claiming that "American billionaire Elon Musk has regular communications with Russian President Putin," NASA Administrator Bill Nelson stated on the same day that an investigation should be conducted into this matter. Additionally, Musk himself appeared to respond to the related report.

I don't know if this story is true, but I think an investigation should be launched. Nelson said, "If this story is true, that there have been multiple conversations between Elon Musk and the Russian president, then I think this is concerning, especially for the Department of Defense and some intelligence agencies."

According to Fox Business Channel's website, in response to The Wall Street Journal's revelation, Musk himself appeared to respond on social media on the same day. The report states that a netizen commented on the related report, suggesting that someone was trying to push the narrative that "Musk is a Russian agent." In response, Musk replied with two "crying with laughter" emojis below.

On a certain date, The Wall Street Journal in the United States reported that multiple sources revealed that since the end of 2021, Elon Musk has maintained regular communication with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to several current or former U.S., European, and Russian officials, the discussions between the two have covered personal topics, business, and geopolitical issues. The Wall Street Journal stated that regarding this revelation, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that the only communication between Musk and the Kremlin was a phone call during which he and Putin discussed "space and current and future technologies." Beyond this, neither Putin nor Kremlin officials have had regular conversations with Musk.

Additionally, according to Fox Business, the Pentagon and the White House have also responded to The Wall Street Journal's report. A Pentagon spokesperson was quoted as saying, "We do not comment on the security clearances, reviews, or identities of any individuals, nor do we comment on personnel security policy issues in the context of reports about the actions of any individual." During a daily press briefing, John Kirby, the National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator, said, "I cannot confirm the authenticity of these reports, and we suggest you contact Mr. Musk to discuss his private communications."
