Approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Discipline Inspection Commission and the Supervision Commission of Jiangxi Province have filed a case for review and investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations of Mao Qi, the former Secretary of the Wan Nian County Committee of Shangrao City.

Upon investigation, it was found that Mao Qi, as a leading Party cadre, had lost his ideals and convictions, abandoned his original aspirations and mission, was disloyal and dishonest to the Party, engaged in double-dealing and played a double game; violated the spirit of the eight-point decision of the Central Committee, accepted banquets and travel arrangements that could affect the impartial execution of official duties; violated organizational discipline, failed to truthfully explain issues during organizational inquiries, and irregularly sought benefits for others in personnel matters; violated integrity discipline, engaged in power-for-power transactions, and illegally accepted gifts and money; violated life discipline, engaged in improper sexual relationships with others; engaged in power-for-money transactions on a large scale, used his position to seek benefits for others in project contracting and fund allocation, and illegally accepted substantial amounts of property.

Mao Qi seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and lifestyle discipline, constituting serious duty violations and suspected bribery crimes. Moreover, he did not cease or desist even after the 18th National Congress of the Party, which is of serious nature and has caused severe negative impact, seriously damaging the image of the Party's cadre and member ranks. Therefore, serious handling is required. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Disciplinary Penalty Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Disciplinary Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after deliberation by the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval by the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, it was decided to expel Mao Qi from the Party; the Jiangxi Provincial Supervisory Commission decided to dismiss him from public office; his illegal and disciplinary gains were confiscated; his qualifications as a delegate to the 15th Provincial Party Congress of Jiangxi, the 5th Municipal Party Congress of Shangrao, and the 14th County Party Congress of Wannian were terminated; his suspected criminal issues were transferred to the procuratorial organs for legal review and prosecution, with the related assets also transferred.
