Car owners, take note! Electronic driving permits can be applied for starting tomorrow.
Ministry of Public Security: Electronic motor vehicle driving licenses will be promoted and applied nationwide in three batches starting from the specified month.
Journalists learned from the Ministry of Public Security that, in order to further expand the benefits of reform, the Ministry of Public Security has deployed the phased nationwide promotion and application of electronic motor vehicle driving licenses from month to month. This move aims to further simplify procedures and materials, enhance the convenience of document use, and better facilitate the public's travel and affairs. Vehicle owners can apply for electronic driving licenses through the unified "Traffic Management" platform according to the local activation schedule.
On a certain date this year, the Ministry of Public Security implemented a series of new measures aimed at benefiting the public and enterprises in traffic management. Among these, electronic motor vehicle行驶证 were piloted in 20 cities including Beijing, Tianjin, and Suzhou. So far, electronic行驶证 have been issued to over 12 million vehicle owners, achieving positive results.
The electronic driving license further enhances digital empowerment in traffic management public services, deepens the application of electronic licenses, and provides vehicle owners with online services for "showing credentials" and "showing codes." The design of the electronic driving license is nationally unified, allowing the public to present it when handling vehicle registration, traffic violations, accident processing, and other traffic management window services. It supports the authorization of vehicle owners to allow others to use it, facilitating the delegation of tasks to others. Additionally, it can be extended to application scenarios such as passenger and freight transport licenses, insurance claims, and more.
The electronic driving license is generated through the national public security traffic management electronic license system, dynamically displaying the status of motor vehicle inspection, mortgage, traffic violations, and accident handling. It facilitates real-time inquiries, real-time presentation, and real-time verification, making it convenient for use in scenarios such as vehicle mortgage and used car transactions.
Since the launch of 10 new traffic management reform measures by the Ministry of Public Security on a certain date this year, they have benefited over 100 million people and reduced the burden on the public and enterprises by more than 10 billion yuan. Over 10 million motorcycle owners have been able to handle cross-provincial registration and other services using only their ID cards, without the need to submit proof of residence in the temporary location. Traffic management departments across the country have issued electronic versions of motor vehicle deregistration certificates through the "Traffic Management" platform to over 10 million vehicle owners, facilitating online applications for subsidies for car trade-ins. Cities like Beijing have implemented the "one-time crossing for left turns" measure for non-motorized vehicles at over 10,000 intersections, while provinces like Jiangsu have integrated slow-traffic designs at 10,000 urban intersections, enhancing the convenience, comfort, and safety of non-motorized vehicle crossings at urban intersections.
