Secretary of State Blinken publicly "let loose" in a rare manner! Recently, during a speech at the American Academy of Diplomacy as he is about to step down, Blinken declared that America's "system has collapsed," and the government's "dysfunction" has weakened the nation's competitiveness. Additionally, Blinken exaggerated the "China threat" and boasted about "achievements in dealing with China." To publicly criticize Congress so fiercely and even directly point fingers at the American political system is indeed unusual for someone as "steady and seasoned" as Blinken.

Today, we will analyze Secretary of State Blinken's main points. Blinken delivered a speech at the American Academy of Diplomacy.

Viewpoint One: The main cause is the vicious struggle between the two parties. The two-party politics in the United States has now evolved into an endless struggle. The two parties are in direct opposition on almost all major issues, opposing for the sake of opposition, which has become the norm in American politics today. Currently, the Republican Party controls the House of Representatives, holds the government's financial power, and is also poised to seize control in the Senate, as evidenced by the Republican Party's victory in the secondary simulation of Senate control in the polls. Blinken stated that the Senate's work is severely lagging, causing Biden's nominees to be delayed in approval, and key positions remain vacant for a long time. This political infighting is like a chronic poison eroding the body of the United States, gradually causing dysfunction in the government's functions, and a system collapse is bound to occur.

Viewpoint 2: Political fragmentation is the root cause. In recent years, political fragmentation in the United States has continued to intensify. Politicians, in order to gain electoral support, have artificially created divisions along racial, cultural, gender, and identity lines. The U.S. government has not only failed to take effective measures to resolve these issues but has also exploited and incited dissatisfaction among different interest groups for personal political gain. Social fragmentation has led the United States to be preoccupied with internal strife, extending this sentiment into its political operations. Whether a budget is allocated to build a border wall to separate immigrants or to accommodate the large number of immigrants already in the country; whether a position is filled by a black woman supported or a white man opposed to transgenderism... These disagreements have gradually evolved into political opposition and even confrontation, becoming what Blinken referred to as "dysfunction."

View Three: "China Threat" Takes the Blame. Blinken claims that countries like China, Russia, and Iran are challenging American interests and values, and are determined to alter the core principles of the international system. He also boasts that under his leadership, the U.S. State Department has allocated resources to "critical areas" of competition with China, formed a broader "anti-China coalition," and achieved significant diplomatic "successes." Facing domestic political difficulties, Blinken unsurprisingly blames China again: rising unemployment in the U.S. is due to China, high crime rates are due to China, and slowing economic growth is also due to China... Blinken further suggests that solving America's predicaments requires "fixing" China, a task that cannot be accomplished without the State Department under his leadership. Such bizarre logic is indeed laughable!

In fact, the "system collapse" in the United States, at its root, is the cumulative result of long-term political polarization, social fragmentation, and misjudgments in foreign strategy. If American politicians, represented by Blinken, continue to hold this erroneous view of "treating internal issues externally," they may face not just "dysfunction," but "incurable illness"!
