The Secretariat of the Technical Committee for Cultural Heritage Protection of the International Organization for Standardization has settled in China.

On March 29, it was learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that the International Organization for Standardization (hereinafter referred to as ISO) recently approved the establishment of the Technical Committee for Cultural Heritage Protection (ISO/TC 349), with its secretariat located in China.

International standards are an important technical foundation for the development of global economic and trade cooperation. As the largest and most authoritative comprehensive international standards body, ISO formulates standards that are widely used around the world. ISO/TC349 currently has a total of 28 participating member states and 13 observer member states. It aims to further build a global consensus on cultural heritage protection and adopt international standardization of terms, technologies, materials and equipment in the process of monitoring, evaluation, protection and restoration of cultural heritage. Work, give full play to the important role of standards in promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, promoting common values of mankind, and share advanced and applicable technologies and best practical experiences for cultural heritage protection. Jointly improve our ability to respond to severe challenges in cultural heritage protection.
