CNNC Jianzhong successfully obtained a manufacturing license for nuclear fuel pellet transport containers.

Recently, we received good news from the National Nuclear Safety Administration that CNNC Jianzhong successfully obtained a manufacturing license for nuclear fuel pellet transport containers. The nuclear fuel pellet transport container is led by China Atomic Energy, designed by China Nuclear Seventh Institute, and produced by China Nuclear Construction Corporation. It is the first approved pellet transport container in China that can match large-scale fuel production.

As an important key equipment to ensure the safety and stability of the nuclear fuel component supply chain and industrial chain, the pellet transport container was independently developed by the CNNC team over 4 years and 34 months. It adopts pellet loading and unloading boxes that are seamlessly connected with the production line., and the specially designed three-layer structure of shielded containers, sealed containers and protective containers can provide a stronger guarantee for the safety of nuclear fuel pellets during transportation.

During the development process, CNNC Jianzhong gave full play to the main role of manufacturing enterprises in scientific and technological innovation, paid attention to the overall coordination of internal and external, successfully completed the preparation and upgrading of manufacturing licenses, quality assurance systems, process technology, procurement and other documents, implemented various node tasks, and passed the National Nuclear Safety Administration Expert review.
