On March 20, the National Energy Administration released data on total social electricity consumption for January and February.

From January to February, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 1.5316 trillion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 11.0%, of which the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 1.4870 trillion kilowatt-hours. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 19.2 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 952 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 286.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 15.7% year-on-year; and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 273.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%.
