According to the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission on April 15, Du Zi, former deputy secretary and deputy director of the Party Leadership Group of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

Public information shows that Du Zi was born in June 1955 in Tuoketuo, Inner Mongolia.‍‍He has been working in Inner Mongolia. In 2001, he served as deputy secretary of the Ordos Municipal Party Committee, in 2007, mayor of Ordos City, in 2008, and secretary of Tongliao Municipal Party Committee in 2011.

In November 2011, Du Zi was promoted to a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and continued to serve as Secretary of the Tongliao Municipal Party Committee.

In January 2015, Du Zi was appointed deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and later no longer served as member of the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Secretary of the Tongliao Municipal Party Committee. In January 2018, the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was elected, and Du Zi no longer served as deputy director.
