The reporter learned from CNOOC Tianjin Branch on July 20 that

Nanbao 35-2 Oilfield, China's first offshore heavy oil thermal recovery oilfield, used the superheated steam huff and puff process for the first time to implement steam huff and puff operations in 6 wells of adjustment wells, with a daily crude oil reaching 220 tons, marking the further improvement of the offshore heavy oil development technical system.

Nanbao 35-2 Oilfield, China's first offshore heavy oil thermal recovery oilfield. Nanbao 35-2 Oilfield is located in the central Bohai Sea, and heavy oil accounts for more than 90% of the proven petroleum geological reserves. Due to its high viscosity, heavy crude oil is difficult to develop in conventional cold production, with low oil production rates and low recovery factors. In this regard, the industry generally uses artificial heating to increase the liquidity of crude oil.
As the first heavy oil thermal recovery oilfield in China's offshore, Nanbao 35 - 2 Oilfield is committed to tackling thermal recovery technology. In response to the problems of rapid heat loss, low oil displacement efficiency, and poor economic benefits in traditional processes, Nanbao 35 - 2 Oilfield relied on high-level heat injection technology to fully launch the first batch of superheated steam huff and puff adjustment well projects in January 2023. Based on the principle of "fast injection and fast production", the project achieved a good effect of over-allocation production by 40 tons/day through the cross-operation of steam huff and puff and steam flooding of "two wells at the same time".
