The reporter learned from Sinopec that China's first geothermal scientific exploration well with a depth of more than 5000 meters, Fushen Re 1, is expected to drill to 5200 meters underground on April 8, setting a new record for the deepest geothermal scientific exploration well in China. Fushen Re 1 Well is located in Haikou City, Hainan Province. It is located on the Pacific Rim high-temperature geothermal belt, one of the four major high-temperature geotropics in the world. It is a deep geothermal resource enrichment area.

Previously, Fushenre 1 Well drilled geothermal resource reservoirs with temperatures of 150 degrees Celsius near 3900 meters underground, and geothermal reservoirs with temperatures of 188.71 degrees Celsius at a depth of 5123 meters.

geothermal energy:Green and low-carbon renewable energy

This geothermal scientific exploration well explores geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is a stable, reliable, green and low-carbon renewable energy. It has the characteristics of large reserves, wide distribution, clean and environmentally friendly, and is gradually becoming an important direction of global energy transformation. Geothermal resources are divided into shallow geothermal resources, mid-deep geothermal resources, and deep geothermal resources according to different depths.

At present, the development and utilization of geothermal resources in China are mostly hydrothermal geothermal in shallow and mid-deep layers, while the development of deep geothermal resources below 3000 meters, especially dry hot rock resources, is still in the exploratory stage. According to data from the China Geological Survey, the amount of dry hot rock-type geothermal resources within 3 kilometers to 10,000 meters underground in China's land area is equivalent to 856 trillion tons of standard coal. Even if only 2% is extracted, it can reach 2023. China's annual energy consumption is 2993 times.
