Net profit increased by 3789% year-on-year!

Huadian International releases its 2023 annual report

Huadian International Power Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as "Huadian International") disclosed its annual report on March 28. In 2023, the company achieved operating income of 117.176 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.45%; achieved net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies of 4.522 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3789.0%; and achieved net profit attributable to the parent company after deduction of non-profit was 3.803 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 779.34%.

During the reporting period, Huadian International's annual power generation capacity reached 223.795 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of approximately 1.30% over the same period last year; its heat supply capacity reached 172 million gijoules, an increase of approximately 3.27% over the same period last year.

During the reporting period, the annual utilization hours of Huadian International's generating unit equipment were 3956 hours, of which the utilization hours of coal-fired generating units were 4301 hours, the utilization hours of natural gas generating units were 2188 hours, and the utilization hours of hydropower generating units were 3795 hours. The company's coal consumption for power supply totaled 289.34 g/kWh, a year-on-year increase of 2.23 g/kWh.

As of the reporting date, Huadian International's installed capacity was 58,449.78 MW, mainly including 46890 MW of coal-fired power generation, 9,094.59 MW of gas-fired power generation, and 2459 MW of hydropower power generation. The company's coal-fired power generation capacity accounts for approximately 80.22% of the company's controlled installed capacity, and the installed capacity of clean energy power generation such as gas-fired power generation and hydropower generation accounts for approximately 19.78%.

As of the reporting date, more than 90% of the company's thermal power generating units are large-capacity, high-efficiency and environmentally friendly units of 300 MW and above, of which the installed capacity of 600 MW and above accounts for approximately 50%, much higher than the national average. All of the company's 103 coal-fired units have met ultra-low emission requirements. All units of 300 MW and below have undergone heating transformation, and the heating capacity has been significantly improved, laying an advantage for participating in market competition.
