Qinghai ranks first in China in terms of installed clean energy and green power generation

Qinghai is very rich in clean energy resources, and the natural endowment of 'abundant water, light and wealth, good wind and wide land' is very superior. By the end of 2023, the installed capacity of clean energy in Qinghai accounted for 92.8%, and green electricity accounted for 84.5%, ranking first in the country. Qinghai Province is a major province of clean energy in China, and many indicators of clean energy development are in the leading position in China. Zhou Wu, deputy director of the Qinghai Provincial Energy Bureau, said that by the end of last year, the province had installed more than 51 million kilowatts of clean energy, accounting for 92.8%, and generating electricity accounted for more than 84%. It was the first to realize the "dual main body" of new energy installation and electricity in China. This year, Qinghai Province will add 15 million kilowatts of clean energy to the installed capacity, and the proportion of clean energy installed and power generation will be further increased. Qinghai Power Grid has become the provincial power grid with the lowest carbon factor, and the content of "green electricity" ranks first in China. The hydropower base in the upper reaches of the Yellow River in Qinghai Province has become one of the 13 largest hydropower bases in China. Five large hydropower stations with a capacity of more than 1 million kilowatts have been built and put into operation. Two million kilowatt hydropower stations, Mazhang and Yangqu, will be built this year, with remarkable cascade comprehensive benefits.

In terms of new energy, Qinghai Province has built two million-kilowatt clean energy bases in Hainan and Haixi, and has approved three batches of China's national large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases of 24.34 million kilowatts; in terms of thermal power, the province will simultaneously start construction of Qiaotou and Golmud. "We are accelerating the construction of 750 kV and 330 kV power transmission and transformation projects. Qinghai Power Grid has become the first provincial-level power grid in northwest China with an AC system transmitting and receiving capacity of more than 10 million kilowatts. The completion of the Qinghai-Henan DC UHV transmission channel has accumulated important engineering and technical experience for the follow-up UHV channel mainly based on new energy in Qinghai Province." Zhou Wu said. It is reported that Qinghai has issued a total of more than 6.5 million new energy green certificates, and the on-grid price of new energy ranks low in China.
