Xi Jinping emphasized that China has always attached great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights, deeply advancing the construction of a powerful nation in intellectual property, driving the intellectual property cause to achieve historic accomplishments, and forging a distinctive path of intellectual property development with Chinese characteristics.

China is willing to work with all parties to continue strengthening cooperation, firmly uphold the multilateral system of international intellectual property rights, contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to create an international environment conducive to innovation and development, promote the global intellectual property governance system towards a more just and reasonable direction, and contribute Chinese strength to enhancing human welfare.

The annual World Intellectual Property Congress of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with the theme "Balanced Protection and Innovative Development of Intellectual Property," co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
