South Korean side: The first batch of North Korean soldiers has arrived in Russia.
On the evening of [Month] [Day], local time, according to the South Korean National Intelligence Service, North Korea has decided to send a special operations force of brigade-scale, consisting of 12,000 soldiers, to fight alongside Russia.
The National Intelligence Service of South Korea stated that it has been informed of the situation and confirmed that some North Korean soldiers have arrived in Russia through Russian naval vessels between the dates of this month. According to the NIS, the first group of soldiers, who have already arrived in Russia, departed from cities in northern North Korea such as Chongjin, Hamhung, and Musudan-ri, and arrived in Vladivostok, Russia, aboard naval vessels of the Russian Pacific Fleet. They are expected to be deployed to the frontlines of the Russia-Ukraine conflict after undergoing adaptation training.
On the day, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol presided over an emergency security meeting. The South Korean presidential office stated that South Korea has been closely monitoring the relevant developments of North Korea dispatching troops to Russia, and will continue to closely monitor the situation and actively take measures to respond in the future. As of now, North Korea and Russia have not responded to this matter.
