In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old woman named Xiaolou was fatally struck by a brick thrown from a high-rise building in a night market snack street in Changchun, Jilin Province. The perpetrator, Zhou, had previously thrown two 18.9-liter water buckets and three unopened cans of cola from the same building, injuring two other individuals.

On the same date, the Changchun Intermediate People's Court sentenced Zhou to death, deprived him of political rights for life, and ordered him to pay compensation of over 40,000 yuan to the victim's family for funeral expenses.
