Former member of the Beijing Municipal Government Party Leadership Group and Vice Mayor Gao Peng has been "double-opened."
Gao Peng, former member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Mayor of the Beijing Municipal Government, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for serious violations of discipline and law.
Upon approval by the CPC Central Committee, the National Supervisory Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has filed a case for review and investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations by Gao Peng, former member of the Party Leadership Group and former Vice Mayor of the Beijing Municipal Government.
Upon investigation, it was found that Gao Peng's ideals and convictions had collapsed, he deviated from his original aspirations and mission, retreated and evaded responsibility in the face of major risks and trials, causing adverse political impacts; he disregarded the spirit of the Eight-Point Decision of the Central Committee, accepted banquets that could affect the impartial execution of official duties, and arranged for management and service objects to provide "butler-like" services for his family; his organizational awareness was weak, he illegally sought benefits for others in the selection and appointment of cadres, falsified information to obtain academic and degree qualifications; he lost his integrity and accepted bribes, engaged in stock trading, borrowed large sums of money from management and service objects, and engaged in power-sex transactions; he pursued hedonism and low-level pleasures; he had no concept of discipline or law, engaged in power-money transactions, used his position to seek benefits for others in employment promotion, business operations, project contracting, and illegally accepted substantial assets; he neglected his duties, causing significant losses to the interests of the state.
Gao Peng seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and lifestyle discipline, constituting serious duty violations and suspected crimes of bribery and dereliction of duty. Moreover, he did not cease or desist after the 18th National Congress of the Party, which is of serious nature and has a bad influence. He should be dealt with seriously.
Pursuant to the relevant provisions of the "Regulations on Disciplinary Sanctions of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Law on Administrative Disciplinary Actions against Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after deliberation by the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, it has been decided to expel Gao Peng from the Party; the National Supervisory Commission will dismiss him from public office; his illegal gains will be confiscated; his suspected criminal activities will be transferred to the procuratorial organs for legal review and prosecution, with the related assets also being transferred.
