CCTV reporter has learned that, according to a source from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) cited by Agence France-Presse on the same day, Hamas will not elect a successor to the late leader Sinwar before the leadership elections scheduled for next month. A five-member Hamas committee currently based in Doha, the capital of Qatar, will temporarily assume the leadership responsibilities of Hamas.

According to the information, this committee was established this year after the assassination of Hamas leader Haniyeh, to help the organization make decisions more effectively. The committee consists of five members, including Khalil al-Hayya, Zakhir Jabari, and Khaled Meshaal, who represent Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and abroad, respectively. The other two members are Muhammad Deif, Chairman of the Hamas Consultative Council, and the Secretary of the Hamas Political Bureau. The identity of the Political Bureau Secretary has been kept confidential for security reasons.
