Liu Zhiqiang, former member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice, has been expelled from the Party for serious disciplinary and legal violations.

Upon approval by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National Supervisory Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has filed a case for review and investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations of Liu Zhiqiang, former member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice.

Upon investigation, Liu Zhiqiang lost his ideals and convictions, betrayed his original aspirations and mission, was disloyal and dishonest to the Party, and resisted organizational review; violated the spirit of the Eight-point Central Committee regulations, accepted banquets that could affect the impartial execution of official duties; contravened organizational principles, failed to truthfully explain issues during organizational inquiries, sought benefits for others and accepted property in the selection and appointment of cadres; compromised on integrity, illegally accepted gifts, cash, and consumption cards, used his position or influence to seek benefits for others, and allowed his relatives to accept property; misused public power for private gain, used his public authority as a tool for personal enrichment, engaged in power-for-money deals, and used his position to seek benefits for others in business operations, project tendering, business promotion, and career advancement, and illegally accepted substantial amounts of property.

Liu Zhiqiang seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, and integrity discipline, constituting serious duty violations and suspected bribery crimes. Moreover, he did not cease or desist after the 18th National Congress of the Party, which is of serious nature and has caused恶劣影响. He should be dealt with seriously. According to the "Regulations on Disciplinary Sanctions of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," the "Law on Administrative Discipline for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," and other relevant provisions, after deliberation by the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval by the Central Committee of the Party, it was decided to expel Liu Zhiqiang from the Party; to cancel the benefits he enjoys according to regulations; to confiscate his illegal gains; to transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorial organs for legal review and prosecution, with the related assets also transferred.
