The project evaluation committee is composed of experts including Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Shao Anlin, Tang Lixin, and others. It is reported that Nangang has millimeter wide and thick plate production lines, millimeter furnace coil rolling mills, and millimeter medium plate production lines, with reasonable rolling width configuration and production line layout, and significant advantages. The product specifications cover wide, thin, medium, and thick categories comprehensively. According to the quality capability classification evaluation of steel production lines for shipbuilding and offshore engineering, all production lines of Nangang have been included in the top tier.
Shao Anlin stated that intelligent manufacturing has become a common theme in the development of the manufacturing industry, and is an inevitable path to enhance the core competitiveness of the manufacturing sector. The project is complex, with innovative outcomes, and it is hoped that the project's results can be horizontally promoted across similar projects and vertically extended to preceding and subsequent processes, thereby driving an improvement in the collaborative manufacturing capabilities of the entire industrial chain.
