Ningling, Henan Province notified relevant hospital personnel suspected of infant trafficking incident
On [Date], the Ningling County Joint Investigation Team issued a situation report: Upon receiving a report from netizens regarding the alleged baby trafficking by personnel from Ningling County People's Hospital, Ningling County authorities attached great importance to the matter and immediately established a joint investigation team to conduct an investigation. Currently, the public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against the named involved individuals, and the disciplinary inspection and supervision organs have also initiated investigations against the relevant responsible personnel. The next step will be to expedite the investigation and handling of the case, and to deal with it in accordance with the law and regulations.
Previously reported, anti-child trafficking volunteer Shangguan Zhengyi revealed that Wang某某, a driver from Ningling County People's Hospital in Shangqiu City, Henan Province, colluded with former staff of the hospital's obstetrics department to traffic infants. On the day, reporters learned from Ningling County People's Hospital that Wang某某 was an external hire. An investigation found that no formal employees of the hospital were involved in the introduction or trafficking of infants. The police have now intervened in the investigation.
Shangguan Zhengyi stated that, based on the information he has gathered, from year to year, a total of female infants were sold to others through the introduction of Wang某某, and these female infants all obtained birth medical certificates from local medical institutions for registration. On the 10th, a reporter contacted a woman who, through Wang某某's introduction, adopted a female infant in 2013. According to the adopter, the person who abandoned the female infant was an unmarried girl at that time. She gave the girl some money as compensation, but she could not remember the exact amount. After the adoption, she used her connections to obtain a birth medical certificate and registered the female infant locally.
Another woman, Zhang Youhua (pseudonym), who allegedly adopted a baby girl through Wang's introduction and claimed to have given birth to the child via cesarean section, told reporters that the daughter was born to her through natural childbirth, not through adoption from others. Reporters confirmed from Ningling County Public Security Bureau that Zhang Youhua's daughter was not biologically related to her. However, reporters learned from Ningling County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital that the hospital's obstetrics department had complete records of Zhang Youhua's hospitalization, cesarean section, and postoperative care, and eventually issued her a formal birth medical certificate based on this information.
Why was a birth medical certificate issued for a daughter who is not biologically related? And why did the complete hospitalization records of Zhang Youhua appear at the Ningling County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital? The relevant officials from the Ningling County Health Commission stated that they have intervened in the investigation regarding the alleged forgery of medical records and issuance of birth medical certificates.
In response to the allegations against driver Wang for suspected involvement in the introduction and trafficking of infants, relevant staff from Ningling County Public Security Bureau stated that, at present, the police have taken coercive measures against Wang and others, and the case is under further investigation.
