Question: It is reported that China has filed an additional lawsuit with the WTO regarding the EU's final anti-subsidy measures on electric vehicles. Could you please provide details on the situation?
Answer: On [date], China filed a lawsuit against the EU's final anti-subsidy measures on Chinese electric vehicles with the WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism. Previously, China had already filed a lawsuit against the EU's preliminary anti-subsidy measures on electric vehicles with the WTO. We regret to see that despite numerous objections from relevant parties, including EU member state governments, industry, and the public, the EU still implemented the final measures, imposing high anti-subsidy tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. China firmly opposes this.
In order to safeguard the interests of the development of the electric vehicle industry and global green transition cooperation, China has decided to file a lawsuit against the EU's anti-subsidy final ruling measures. China believes that the EU's anti-subsidy final ruling measures lack factual and legal basis, violate WTO rules, constitute an abuse of trade remedy measures, and are in fact a form of trade protectionism under the guise of anti-subsidy. We urge the EU to face up to its own mistakes, immediately correct the illegal practices, and jointly maintain the stability of the global electric vehicle industry chain and supply chain as well as the overall situation of Sino-EU economic and trade cooperation.
