The World Openness Report released on the forum states that in 2021, the world's openness index was 0.704, a decrease of 0.024 or 3.3% compared to the previous year, showing a clear trend of fluctuation and contraction. From 2012 to 2020, China's openness index rose from 0.7106 to 0.7507, an increase of 5.6%, ranking among the top globally. China's efforts to expand its openness have yielded significant results.

At the sub-forum on "Deepening Cooperation in Industrial and Supply Chains to Promote High-Quality Enterprise Development," the Director of the Division on Globalization and Development Strategies at UNCTAD, Nesvetailova, emphasized that current exchanges and cooperation in the fields of technology and finance are crucial. Through close regional cooperation, the resilience of global supply chains will be further enhanced, better equipping the world to address the ever-changing global economic landscape.
"Think Local, Act Local." According to Airbus China Chief Operating Officer George Xu, Airbus is actively developing products tailored for the Chinese market and conducting research and development in China, which will help create more collaboration opportunities.
Airbus is not an isolated case. In recent years, many international companies have achieved mutual growth with the local economy by deeply integrating into the Chinese market and establishing close cooperative relationships with local suppliers.
"The next 'China' is still China, investing in China is investing in the future." Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman of L'Oréal Group, said at the sub-forum on "Aggregating Global High-Quality Consumer Resources to Promote Consumption Quality and Upgrading" that China has introduced a series of proactive measures to expand openness, which helps boost consumer confidence and drive consumption upgrading. "L'Oréal has always been optimistic about China's economy and market potential, and is confident in its development in the Chinese market."
Gather the momentum of innovation through openness
China is currently experiencing a surge in the development of new high-quality productive forces, injecting strong momentum into its own growth and igniting the global innovation engine.
At the "AI Empowering New Industrialization" sub-forum, Meng Pu, Chairman of Qualcomm China, stated that in the process of collaborating with Chinese enterprises on innovation, Qualcomm has experienced the strong innovation capabilities and rapid market response of Chinese enterprises. Over the past three years, Qualcomm's new technologies have supported nearly a hundred Chinese automotive brands in launching over a hundred smart connected vehicle models in the Chinese market.
"Many new technologies, such as those in the field of new energy, are closely interconnected," said Tang Muchen, President of Alfa Laval Northeast Asia, at the sub-forum on "The Future of Global New Energy Vehicles." He expressed hope for further innovation in lithium iron phosphate battery technology, which requires more collaboration among industry partners to make new energy technology more widespread.
"China is the ideal market for our new technology applications. New energy sources such as hydrogen energy require a certain scale to be applied normally, and only China has such a large market scale," Tang Mushan admitted.

Prune Sebahizi, Minister of Trade and Industry of Rwanda, stated at the sub-forum on "Sustainable Development and China-Africa Cooperation in the Global South" that China's series of preferential policies for the least developed countries, such as tariff reductions, have significantly boosted Rwanda's trade with China, expanded export value, and solidified its position in the global economic landscape.
Former Ethiopian senior minister Arkebe Oqubay stated that China has achieved good cooperation with many African countries in the economic field, from the construction of industrial parks to the realization of railway connectivity, and openness has promoted the sharing of development dividends among all parties.

During the forum, Assistant Minister of Commerce of China, Tang Wenhong, stated that China will continue to advance the high-quality co-construction of the Belt and Road, strengthen innovative cooperation in areas such as intelligent manufacturing and the digital economy, promote the connectivity of sustainable supply chains, and build an international cooperation system for industrial and supply chains that is mutually beneficial and win-win.
