On the date, the 10th Asia-Pacific Energy Sustainability Summit and the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the APEC Sustainable Energy Center were held in Tianjin. Representatives from the Secretariat, the Chair of the Energy Working Group, member economies, and multiple international organizations attended the event. Zhang Jianhua, Director of the National Energy Administration, was invited to attend the forum and deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.

Zhang Jianhua stated that China is a doer and action-taker in green and low-carbon development. In recent years, while ensuring the energy security of over a billion people, China has accelerated the transformation of its energy system, establishing the world's largest clean power generation system. Renewable energy has become the absolute mainstay of China's new electricity supply, with annual additions of renewable energy installations exceeding half of the global total, injecting strong momentum into global green and low-carbon development. As an active advocate and firm practitioner of energy cooperation, China initiated the establishment of the Sustainable Energy Center (SEC) during the Energy Ministers' Meeting in the year, contributing an important public good to the Asia-Pacific region. Over the past decade, as one of the 18 entity research institutions of the Energy Working Group, SEC has fully leveraged its role as a think tank, providing strong support to the work of the Energy Working Group. It has deeply engaged in key areas such as the "Sustainable Cities Cooperation Network," the "Asia-Pacific Energy Transition Initiative," and "Future Clean Energy Technologies," actively building platforms for exchange and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, and contributing significantly to the low-carbon and sustainable development of energy in the region. China is willing to work together with other member economies, relying on the energy cooperation mechanism, fully utilizing the platform's role, deepening collaboration, exploring high-quality energy development paths that suit the characteristics of different economies, and jointly creating a sustainable energy future for the people of the Asia-Pacific.

During the forum, the 10th Steering Committee meeting was also held, attended by the guiding unit, the National Energy Administration, the operation management unit, Tianjin University, partner units, and relevant experts, to discuss and study matters related to development.

The heads of the General Affairs Department, Electricity Department, New Energy Department, International Department, and North China Energy Regulatory Bureau attended the meeting.
