Former Standing Committee Member of Jiangning District Committee of Nanjing and Former Secretary of the District Discipline Inspection Commission, Yang Bin, was sentenced to years in prison for accepting bribes worth millions of yuan.
On a certain date, the Intermediate People's Court of Zhenjiang City publicly announced the first instance verdict in the bribery case of Yang Bin. The defendant Yang Bin was sentenced to fourteen years in prison for the crime of bribery, with a fine of four million five hundred thousand yuan; the proceeds of the bribery crime and its interest were to be confiscated and turned over to the state treasury.
After trial, it was found that from Year to Year, the defendant Yang Bin, while serving as the Deputy Director of the Second Office of Discipline Inspection of the Nanjing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection (Supervision Bureau), the Director of the Third Office of Discipline Inspection of the Nanjing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection (Supervision Bureau), the Standing Committee Member and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Jiangning District Committee of the Nanjing Municipal Committee, and the Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Nanjing Municipal People's Procuratorate, took advantage of his positions and the convenience conditions formed by his authority or status to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in the handling of disciplinary and illegal cases, project contracting, project approval, employment, and enrollment through the conduct of other state functionaries.
From month to month, defendant Yang Bin directly or through others illegally received property totaling the equivalent of more than 10 million yuan.
