On the morning of the local date, President Xi Jinping delivered a written speech titled "Grasping the Grand Trend of the Times and Jointly Promoting World Prosperity" at the APEC CEO Summit held in Lima.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the countries in the Asia-Pacific region are deeply integrated into economic globalization, forming a community of shared interests and destiny where prosperity and adversity are shared. At the same time, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and transformation, and economic globalization faces severe tests of moving against the current—not advancing means retreating. The direction of the Asia-Pacific economy is a choice we must make.

Xi Jinping pointed out that economic globalization is an objective requirement of the development of social productive forces and an inevitable result of technological progress. Although it has encountered headwinds and setbacks, its overall trend of development has never changed. Insisting on splitting the interdependent world under various pretexts is a regression in history. The more difficult the moment, the more confidence must be steadfast. It is necessary to correctly guide the direction of economic globalization, work together to promote inclusive and equitable economic globalization, and push economic globalization into a new stage that is more dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable, better benefiting different countries and groups.

One is to adhere to innovation-driven development and promote robust growth of the global economy. Uphold the concept of benefiting all humanity with scientific and technological achievements, assist developing countries in strengthening their technological capabilities, and facilitate the global flow of knowledge and technology.

Second, adhere to keeping pace with the times and promote the reform of the global economic governance system. Uphold the principles of consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits, continuously enhance the representation and voice of the global South, and ensure that all countries enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and rules in international economic cooperation. Promote the building of an open world economic system and maintain the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains.

Three is to adhere to people-centered development and promote the resolution of imbalances in development. World prosperity and stability cannot be built on the foundation of the poor becoming poorer and the rich becoming richer; genuine development lies in the common development of all countries. We must pursue a path of economic globalization that is people-centered, more balanced in development, and offers greater equality of opportunity, so that people from different countries, different classes, and different groups can share in the fruits of development.

Xi Jinping emphasized that over the past years, the Asia-Pacific region has maintained robust economic growth, creating the remarkable "Asia-Pacific Miracle" that has captured global attention. The success of the Asia-Pacific is attributed to our unwavering commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability, our steadfast adherence to true multilateralism and open regionalism, and our consistent alignment with the trend of economic globalization, as well as our emphasis on mutual benefit, win-win cooperation, and mutual achievement. The Asia-Pacific region should continue to be the locomotive driving economic globalization, uphold the principles of integrity and innovation, polish the golden brand of an open and inclusive Asia-Pacific, and create new brands for a green and digital Asia-Pacific. We must promote the building of a community with a shared future for the Asia-Pacific, aiming to usher in the next "golden three decades" of development for the region.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has made systematic arrangements for further comprehensively deepening reforms and advancing the Chinese path to modernization. China will comprehensively deepen reforms and continue to inject strong momentum into the global economy. China has ample confidence in achieving its economic growth target for this year and will continue to play the role of the world's largest engine for economic growth. China will promote high-quality development, develop new forms of productive forces tailored to local conditions, advance the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, and continue to lead the world economy in improving quality and efficiency. China will unswervingly follow the path of green development, continue to provide important impetus for global green transformation, and make significant contributions to global climate change response. China will build a new system of higher-level open economy, introduce more autonomous and unilateral opening-up policies, expand the network of high-standard free trade zones facing the global market, and continue to share China's development opportunities with the world.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China's development is inseparable from the Asia-Pacific and will further benefit the Asia-Pacific.
