Vice Minister Li Yongzhe of the Ministry of Commerce attended the ministerial meeting between China and the members of the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement.
On the date, Li Yongzhe, Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the ministerial meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Lima, Peru, and participated in the ministerial meeting between China and the members of the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA).
The meeting was chaired by China's entry into the working group, with the participation of Chile's Undersecretary of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodrigo Sanhueza, New Zealand's Minister of Trade Damien O'Connor, Singapore's Minister for Trade Relations Lim Hng Kiang, and South Korea's Minister for Trade Negotiations at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Jeong Moo-kyung.
Li Yongzhi stated that since China's accession to the working group, China has maintained close communication at all levels with member parties, and negotiations have made positive progress. China will further actively align with the rules and achieve mutual compatibility of rules, regulations, management, and standards in areas such as e-commerce. China is willing to engage in in-depth discussions with member parties on key provisions, striving to reach consensus as soon as possible, and looks forward to practical cooperation in the field of digital economy.
Members have given positive assessments of the progress made by China in joining the working group, expressing their willingness to work together with China to advance consultations at all levels and to drive negotiations towards greater progress.
