On the afternoon of the month, local time, President Xi Jinping met with Chilean President Boric during his attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting in Lima.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Chile was the first South American country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. Over the past half century, both sides have consistently and firmly supported each other's core interests and major concerns, being trusted good friends and partners in win-win cooperation. The Chinese side is willing to work with Chile to take the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to enhance strategic communication, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, share development opportunities, and promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Chile to achieve new and greater development, bringing better benefits to the people of both countries.

Xi Jinping emphasized that both sides should enhance exchanges and communication in various fields and at all levels, adhere to mutual respect, mutual trust, mutual benefit, and reciprocity, as well as interconnection, continuously enrich the content of cooperation, strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, clean energy, information and communication, and promote bilateral cooperation towards more sustainable and broader areas through high-level free trade and more open industrial policies. China welcomes more high-quality Chilean products to be exported to China, supports more Chinese enterprises to invest and start businesses in Chile, and hopes that Chile will provide a transparent, open, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises. China is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with Chile within multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, practice true multilateralism, safeguard the smooth and stable global supply chain, and the common interests of the global South, and jointly build an open, dynamic, resilient, and peaceful Asia-Pacific community.

President Boric noted that the relationship between Chile and China is strong, with fruitful economic and trade cooperation. In the current international context, the continuous development of Chile-China relations is of great significance. Chile is firmly committed to the One-China principle and is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields such as culture and education. He congratulated President Xi Jinping on the inauguration of the Qiankai Port yesterday. Chile welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in Chile in areas such as capacity and infrastructure, and is committed to providing a favorable business environment for Chinese companies. Chile looks forward to close communication with China within multilateral frameworks such as APEC, jointly opposing protectionism, and maintaining the security and smooth flow of global free trade and supply chains. Chile supports China's accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement.
