According to a report by The Washington Post, several current and former Israeli officials have disclosed to the media that Ron Dermer, Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister, informed President-elect Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner this week that Israel is accelerating efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon as a "gift" to Trump.

Reportedly, Delmée visited Mar-a-Lago, Trump's residence in Palm Beach, Florida, as the first stop of his US trip. He discussed the aforementioned proposal with Trump and Kushner at Mar-a-Lago, then proceeded to the White House to brief Biden administration officials on the latest developments in the ceasefire negotiations between Lebanon and Israel.
The report cited an anonymous Israeli official as saying, "Israel will present some gifts to Trump... an understanding on Lebanon (ceasefire) will be reached next month."
The report states that the Israeli Prime Minister's Office and Trump's spokesperson declined to comment on this matter, and Kushner's spokesperson did not respond to the request for comment.
According to a previous report by U.S. News, two Israeli officials and two U.S. officials familiar with the meeting revealed that Delmar met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on the local date.
The report cited an Israeli official as saying that the meeting aimed to convey messages from Netanyahu to Trump and to brief Trump on Israel's plans for the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Iran in the coming two months.
The news website reported that an American official disclosed, "The Israeli side hopes to clarify with Trump what issues he (Trump) wants to resolve before the (inauguration day) in (next year), and which issues he would prefer the Israelis to wait for him to address."
US officials also mentioned that Israel hoped to understand Trump's stance on efforts to halt the Lebanon-Israel ceasefire, post-war plans for Gaza, and the normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
