On [date], Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Motoo Muto in Lima, Peru, where they exchanged views on Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations. Wang Wentao stated that both sides should jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen policy communication and dialogue, and comprehensively advance the strategic mutually beneficial relationship in the economic and trade field.

Both sides positively evaluated the China-Japan Export Control Dialogue mechanism and the launch of the China-Japan Working Group on Optimizing Business Environment, which has achieved good results. They agreed to hold the China-Japan Service Trade Policy Dialogue. The Chinese side also exchanged views with the Japanese side on Japan's semiconductor export control and China's accession.
