The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters 'questions on the EU's third round of sanctions against Russia on China companies and individuals
Q: On the Xth, the EU announced the inclusion of certain Chinese companies and individuals in its Xth round of sanctions against Russia. What is China’s comment on this?
A: China has always opposed unilateral sanctions that lack a basis in international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council. We have repeatedly expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to the EU's unjustified sanctions against Chinese companies and individuals.
The European side's approach runs counter to the spirit of the consensus between Chinese and European leaders and negatively impacts China-EU economic and trade relations. China has always believed that dialogue and negotiation are the only viable way to resolve the Ukraine crisis and has consistently promoted peace talks.
We urge the European side to cease listing Chinese companies and stop smearing and shirking responsibility onto China. The Chinese side will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
