Japan is up to its tricks again, Taiwan Affairs Office responds→
Today, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference.
A journalist asked: It was reported that Japan's Ministry of Justice allowed Taiwanese residents in Japan to change their registered place of origin from "China" to "Taiwan" starting this month. Do you have any comment on this?
Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. The relevant actions by the Japanese side attempt to create "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan," severely violating the One-China principle and grossly interfering in China's internal affairs. We firmly oppose this. As a country with historical culpability on the Taiwan issue, Japan should learn from past lessons, act prudently, adhere to the One-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, and handle Taiwan-related issues with caution. We warn the DPP authorities that misjudging the situation and seeking "independence" by relying on external forces is doomed to fail.
