Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office officially approved the addition of a "new energy industry" field to the rapid patent pre-examination service of the Intellectual Property Protection Center of Binhai New District, which will provide rapid patent pre-examination services to enterprises in the solar energy, wind energy, lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen energy and other industrial chains in Binhai New District.

Up to now, the rapid patent pre-examination services of the Intellectual Property Protection Center of Binhai New District cover the three major industries of high-end equipment manufacturing, biomedicine and new energy, and 86 IPC classification numbers have been approved by the State Intellectual Property Office.

As the new energy industry becomes an important track and main direction for future development, the supporting and leading role of intellectual property rights, especially patents, in the creation, application, and protection, will become more prominent. The Binhai New District Protection Center has been successfully approved for pre-examination services for the new energy industry. It will provide more efficient intellectual property services for industrial chain enterprises such as solar energy, wind energy, lithium-ion batteries, and hydrogen energy in the new district, and accelerate the research and development of new technologies for innovative entities. Cultivate core competitiveness, comprehensively carry out patent layout, and provide important support. It is expected that the average authorization rate of relevant patents will increase to more than 80% after passing the pre-examination, the average authorization period for invention patents will be shortened to less than 3 months, and the number of high-quality invention patents will reach 400 annually.
