China's manufacturing PMI rises back into expansion territory in March

On March 31, the National Bureau of Statistics released the operation of China's Purchasing Managers Index in March 2024, showing that the Purchasing Managers Index for manufacturing, the Business Activity Index for non-manufacturing, and the Comprehensive PMI Output Index were 50.8%, 53.0% and 52.7% respectively in March, an increase of 1.7, 1.6 and 1.8 percentage points respectively compared with the previous month. All three major indexes were in the expansion range, indicating that the production and operation activities of enterprises accelerated, and the economic prosperity of China rebounded.

The Fourth Batch of Smart PV Pilot Demonstration Enterprises and Projects Announced

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and four other departments recently jointly announced the list of the fourth batch of pilot demonstration enterprises and demonstration projects for smart photovoltaic, including 45 enterprises and 81 projects. According to the Action Plan for Innovative Development of Smart Photovoltaic Industry (2021-2025), by 2025, the intelligentization level of China's photovoltaic industry will be significantly improved, and the construction of the ecological system will be basically completed.

Recently, the Standing Committees of the People's Congresses of Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang unanimously passed the "Regulations for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Yangtze River Delta Ecological and Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations"), which will be implemented in the three regions simultaneously from May 1st. The "Regulations" provide comprehensive and multi-dimensional regulations on the cross-regional coordination mechanisms within the Demonstration Zone in terms of planning and construction, ecological environment, innovation and development, Jiangnan water town culture, public services, etc.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recently approved the establishment of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage Protection, with its secretariat based in China. The TC currently comprises 28 participating member states and 13 observing member states. It will share advanced technologies and practical experience for the protection of cultural heritage by working on the international standardization of terminology, techniques, and other aspects related to its monitoring, assessment, conservation, and restoration.
