Before taking up his new post this time, Cui Jianchun was appointed as China's ambassador to Nigeria.

The official resume shows that Cui Jianchun, male, Han nationality, born in July 1964, has a master's degree of business administration, and is a member of the Communist Party of China.

Liu Guangyuan, who previously served as a commissioner of the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, became deputy director of the Liaison Office in Hong Kong in July last year.

According to the official website, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is an institution established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in accordance with the provisions of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China to handle foreign affairs related to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

According to the relevant provisions of the Basic Law, the duties of the Office in Hong Kong are:Handle foreign affairs related to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region managed by the Central People's Government; assist the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in handling relevant external affairs on its own in accordance with the Basic Law or as authorized; handle other affairs assigned by the Central People's Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
