In response to reports that the dean of a university in Guangxi was hit by a car and died on campus, on April 12, Guangxi University for Nationalities issued a briefing. Professor Ye Jun, dean of the school's School of Liberal Arts, was seriously injured in a traffic accident on campus on March 22, 2024. The school immediately contacted 120 to send him to the hospital. After all efforts to rescue him, he passed away in the hospital at 14:8 on April 9, 2024. The school is extremely sad and sorry for the death of Professor Ye Jun!

The notice stated that at present, the school is urging the police to find out the truth as soon as possible, punish relevant responsible personnel in a timely manner, and actively cooperate with family members to deal with relevant aftermath. The results of the accident investigation will be announced in a timely manner.

According to previous media reports, on the morning of March 22, Ye Jun was knocked down by a school bus on campus and dropped to the ground. After the accident, traffic police arrived at the scene to deal with it. Ye Jun suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital. After all efforts to rescue him, he passed away.

According to public information, Ye Jun was born in January 1971 in Xishui County, Hubei Province. He is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of modern and contemporary Chinese literature and is a member of the China Writers Association.

Ye Jun once taught at the School of Liberal Arts of Heilongjiang University, served as deputy director of the Xiao Hong Research Center of Heilongjiang University, and vice president of the Xiao Hong Research Association of Heilongjiang Province. He has published many monographs on Xiao Hong's research, including "From a Foreign Land to a Foreign Land-The Biography of Xiao Hong","Lu Xun and Xiao Hong".

After Ye Jun passed away, many graduates of Guangxi University for Nationalities and Heilongjiang University posted messages on the online platform to mourn their teachers.

Poet Sanke posted a tribute on social media on April 10:"My good friend Ye Jun has left. His research on Xiao Hong is the best in China. Sing long and cry, please go well."
