Inner Mongolia science and technology "breakthrough" project begins to be implemented

The world's first 100% new energy UHV flexible DC project launched

Following the launch of the "Sodium-Ion Hybrid Capacitor Energy Storage Technology" project in Ordos City on March 18, on March 29, another "14th Five-Year Plan" national key research and development plan "Large-scale renewable energy bases" Key technologies for ultra-high-voltage multi-terminal DC transmission and transmission "was launched in Hohhot City. In view of the absence of conventional energy support, the project will carry out key technological research on ultra-high voltage multi-terminal DC transmission in the large-scale new energy base in Shagohuang, and plan to build a long-distance new energy transmission demonstration project. This is the world's first ultra-high voltage flexible DC project with 100% new energy and application of high-voltage and large-capacity power devices. It will open up a new technological path for large-scale renewable energy development in China's Shago Wasteland Area.

At present, Inner Mongolia Autonomous region is striving to implement the "breakthrough" project of science and technology, to cultivate new industries and new tracks with scientific and technological innovation as the driving force, and to create new quality productive forces. Energy storage and new power system are the key supporting technologies of the energy revolution and the strategic emerging industries of the national layout. The implementation of this project is of great significance for Inner Mongolia to build an important national energy base and develop new productive forces according to local conditions. It is of great significance to seize the commanding heights of future development. The project "key Technologies of UHV Multi-terminal HVDC Transmission in large-scale Renewable Energy Base" is led by Inner Mongolia Electric Power (Group) Co., Ltd., jointly implemented by 14 domestic advantageous universities, institutes and enterprises, including Huairou Laboratory and North China Electric Power University, as well as 4 academician teams, 4 national key laboratories and 1 National Engineering and Technology Center. Reflects the introduction of national and even the world's top experts or innovation team to engage in research and development, vigorously cultivate new industries and new tracks, to achieve the leading scientific and technological "breakthrough" requirements. It is reported that these two projects are the key projects approved by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region Government and the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2023, which were approved by the "key Special Framework Agreement on Energy Storage and Smart Grid Technology" signed by the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous region and the Ministry of Science and Technology. State funding reached 80 million yuan, leveraging enterprises to invest more than 180 million yuan in research and development. So far, two national key R & D projects, "Energy Storage and Smart Grid Technology", led by enterprises in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, have all started, marking the implementation of the key task of the "breakthrough" project of energy storage and new power system in Inner Mongolia.
