The new energy storage technology is characterized by high efficiency, cleanliness and flexibility. Compared with traditional energy storage technology, it has higher energy density, faster charging and discharging speed and lower maintenance costs. It can be combined with smart grids and electric vehicles. The combination of etc. has broad application prospects. Since 2024, many places have identified new energy storage as a key development industry, especially on the basis of the "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening Power Grid Peak Regulation Energy Storage and Intelligent Dispatch Capacity Building" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration., the industry generally expects that the scale of China's new energy storage market will continue to grow rapidly this year. At the same time, leading photovoltaic companies have also deployed new energy storage tracks.

On March 25, the 2024 Annual Meeting of the China High-Level Development Forum was held in Beijing. Jinke Energy, as the only photovoltaic company, was invited to attend the forum and participated in many parallel forums such as carbon neutrality and global climate governance, and digital empowerment industry transformation to exchange views on related topics such as the linkage of new energy to China's development and the sustainable development of the world.

Qian Jing, vice president of Jinke Energy Holdings Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as "Jinke Energy"), is very concerned about new trends and new developments in photovoltaics and energy storage. In an interview with a reporter from the China Economic Times during the forum, she said that photovoltaics and energy storage are two important sectors for Jinko Energy's future development, and strive to become the world's top three energy storage suppliers within three to five years.

In 2023, China's photovoltaic industry will add more than 216 GW of new installed capacity, accounting for a historic global proportion of more than 50%; the cumulative installed capacity is close to 610 GW. Energy storage is the key to solving the problem of photovoltaic consumption, and policies continue to be favorable. For the first time, China has included "developing new energy storage" in this year's "Government Work Report":Strengthen the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases and transmission channels, promote the development and utilization of distributed energy, improve the grid's ability to accept, allocate and regulate clean energy, and develop new energy storage.

In Qian Jing's view, the current scale of energy storage lags behind the scale of photovoltaic development, which restricts the further penetration of photovoltaic in mature markets to a certain extent. In this year when the photovoltaic industry is developing rapidly, it is particularly critical to ensure efficient development and utilization of energy. She said that new energy storage will play a crucial role in building a new power system. Through energy storage, photovoltaic can become a truly independent energy source. Relying on energy storage technology can allow photovoltaics to break the time limit and continue to generate electricity 24 hours a day to meet all-day electricity demand. In particular, photovoltaics, as a method that relies on solar radiation to generate electricity, are generally concentrated around noon. A large number of centralized power supply at the same time will have an impact on the power grid system. Relying on energy storage technology to relieve pressure on the power grid during the power generation process will protect the power grid system to a large extent and reduce power waste.

In addition, she believes that distributed photovoltaics are mainly installed on the surface of buildings. For home users, they can not only solve their own electricity needs "spontaneously", but the excess power generation can also be exported to the power grid to obtain electricity bills.

During the 2024 annual meeting of the China Development Forum, China issued important commitments to the world to "adhere to the promotion of industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation" and "accelerate the development of new productive forces."

Technological iteration and innovation promote the upgrading and development of the photovoltaic industry. Qian Jing said that the photovoltaic industry is a representative of new productivity and a typical modern manufacturing industry with advanced technology as the backbone. The frequency of innovation in China's photovoltaic industry is very fast. Jinke alone has broken the world record for battery and module efficiency 25 times in a row, basically breaking the record every six months or even three months. Technology iteration is very fast. It can quickly industrialize R & D innovation achievements, quickly form a scale and ecological chain, and leverage the scale of trillions of output values.

Qian Jing said that in the past ten years, the average electricity cost of global photovoltaic power generation projects has dropped by more than 80%, a large part of which is attributed to Chinese innovation, Made in China, and Chinese engineering. At present, China's photovoltaic products have been exported to more than 200 countries and regions around the world, with a cumulative export value exceeding US$245.3 billion. As one of China's "three new things", photovoltaic products have also become an important engine for promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade.

The development and upgrading of high-efficiency photovoltaic technology has led to a rapid reduction in photovoltaic costs, providing a starting point for other industries, especially high-energy-consuming industries, to reduce energy costs, achieve low-carbon transformation, and provide a feasible and economical path for the realization of the "double carbon" goal.

Qian Jing said that the core of new productivity is innovation, which must not only encourage innovation, but also protect innovation. Jinko Energy's annual R & D investment of nearly 10 billion yuan, a R & D team of thousands of people, continuous record-breaking R & D results, and possession of the largest number of technology patents in the industry provide soil and protection for innovation. In addition to innovation in the technology itself, it carries out all-round innovation in production models, processes, digital applications, business models, etc.

Under continuous technological innovation and exploration, Jingke Energy has led the photovoltaic industry to a new height of N-type technology, breaking world records 25 times. It has not only become one of the important sources of confidence for China's photovoltaic products to go abroad, but also built a vertical integration on a global scale. The production layout has become a leading photovoltaic product manufacturing giant in technology and scale.

As the world's largest photovoltaic module manufacturer, Jinko Energy uses technologies such as the Internet, Internet of Things, big data, AI, and factory robots to implement modern intelligent manufacturing including unmanned workshops, end-to-end supply chain connectivity, carbon footprint traceability systems, and energy interconnection. Continuously use technological innovation to forge new photovoltaic productivity.
