On March 28, China General Nuclear Power Power Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as "CGN Power") announced its 2023 annual results report.
The report shows that CGN Power achieved 214.146 billion kilowatt-hours of on-grid electricity in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 7.95%. This achievement is due to the safe and stable operation of the 27 operating nuclear power units managed by the company. Against the background of the overall balance of supply and demand in the electricity market, CGNPC Power provides stable and reliable clean electricity to its provinces and regions. As of the end of 2023, the installed capacity of units in operation and under construction managed by the company reached 43.81 million kilowatts.

01 In terms of operations

The company overcame the risk of price fluctuations in the electricity market, strictly controlled non-essential expenses, and achieved a net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company of RMB 10.725 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.64%. At the same time, the final cash dividend recommended by the board of directors is RMB 0.094/share, an increase of 8.05% year-on-year, and the dividend ratio is as high as 44.26%, continuing to fulfill the five-year dividend planning commitment.

02 In terms of nuclear power operation management

CGN Power has achieved remarkable results. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station has been operating safely and stably for 30 years since it was put into commercial operation, and Ling 'ao Nuclear Power Unit 1 has also achieved a record of continuous safe and stable operation of more than 6300 days. In addition, Yangjiang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. won the 20th National Quality Award, further demonstrating CGN Power's excellent level in nuclear power operation and management. Nearly 80% of the WANO indicators have reached the world's advanced level, demonstrating the company's international competitiveness in nuclear power technology and management.

It is worth mentioning that in March 2023, the first "Hualong-1" nuclear power unit in western China-CGN Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Unit 3 was officially put into operation for power generation, and achieved safe and reliable operation of the first cycle, with a capacity factor of up to 98.2%. In addition, the company has 11 units under construction, all using "Hualong-1" nuclear power technology. Among them, Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Unit 4 is expected to be put into operation in the first half of 2024.

03 In terms of technological innovation

Since the construction of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station in the 1980s, CGN Power has always adhered to scientific and technological innovation to lead the company's development, continuously promoted technological transformation and independent innovation, and has successively formed second-generation CPR1000 and CPR1000 + technologies with independent intellectual property rights, and has third-generation nuclear power technology features ACR1000 technology and third-generation "Hualong One" technology.

CGNPC Power fully integrates into the national regional innovation layout and promotes the construction of R & D platforms with high quality. Focusing on nuclear energy science and technology innovation, the company has orderly promoted the construction of the three major R & D bases of the Southern China Atomic Energy Science and Technology Innovation Center in Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Yangjiang, and actively applied for two new national-level R & D centers to create a source of advanced nuclear energy original technology. In 2023, CGN Power's cumulative on-grid electricity throughout the year will equivalent reduction in standard coal consumption by approximately 64.6722 million tons and emission reduction of carbon dioxide by approximately 176 million tons. The emission reduction effect is equivalent to planting more than 480,000 hectares of forest.
