Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna condemned Russia's overnight strike on the Centralised Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility in Kyiv Oblast, calling it a conscious risk to nuclear safety.

"This level of Kremlin recklessness cannot go unanswered. It demands consequences in the strongest possible terms. No state can be permitted to play roulette with global nuclear security," Tsakhna wrote on X (Twitter), as reported by European Pravda.

Russian forces attacked the facility building on the night of 6-7 June. Tsakhna said Moscow's strikes on Ukrainian nuclear infrastructure and its deliberate use of energy as a weapon bring Europe closer to a new catastrophe.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also called on the international community to respond to the strike.
