On the date, Minister Wang Wentao met with Minister Martin Kocher of Labor and Economy of Austria. They had in-depth exchanges on Sino-Austrian and Sino-European economic and trade relations. Representatives from the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce, Magna Steyr, Raiffeisen Bank International, and other enterprises attended the meeting.

Wang Wentao stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the economic and trade relations between China and Austria have generally been developing positively. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, held this year, has clearly signaled the expansion of high-level openness to the outside world and outlined major reform initiatives for the next five years, which will provide new opportunities for enterprises from countries including Austria to develop in China. China's door to openness will only open wider and wider. It is hoped that Austrian enterprises will seize the opportunities presented by China's modernization efforts, continue to deepen their presence in the Chinese market, and achieve greater development.

Wang Wentao pointed out that the EU's anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese electric vehicles severely hinders cooperation between China and the EU in the automotive industry, damaging the confidence of Chinese automakers in investing in Europe. China and Austria have a long history of cooperation in the automotive and auto parts sectors, with a solid foundation and broad prospects. The Chinese side has always engaged in dialogue and consultation with the EU with the utmost sincerity and goodwill. It is hoped that Austria will play a constructive role in promoting the European Commission to work with China in the same direction, advancing the consultation with a constructive attitude, and striving to reach a mutually acceptable and proper solution as soon as possible, in order to safeguard the overall development of China-EU economic and trade relations.

Koch stated that Austria and China are important trading partners for each other, with fruitful results in practical cooperation across various fields. The Austrian government supports free trade and open cooperation, hopes to eliminate trade and investment barriers, and looks forward to the proper resolution of the electric vehicle case through dialogue and consultation between the EU and China. Austria supports deepening cooperation between the two countries' enterprises in trade and investment, green transformation, innovation and research, and winter sports, making positive contributions to global economic recovery and addressing climate change.
