North Korea has decided to send a special operations force of brigade-scale to Russia, with a total of 1,000 soldiers. The first batch of 1,000 North Korean soldiers who have arrived in Russia are expected to be deployed to the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine conflict after completing adaptive training.

According to CCTV News, on the evening of a certain date, the South Korean intelligence agency, the National Intelligence Service, reported that North Korea has decided to send a special operations force of approximately 13,000 soldiers, equivalent to the size of three brigades, to fight in Russia. The South Korean National Intelligence Service stated that it has been informed of the situation and confirmed that some North Korean soldiers have already arrived in Russia by Russian naval vessels between the 20th and 22nd of this month.

According to the National Intelligence Service, the first batch of North Korean soldiers who have arrived in Russia traveled from the northern cities of Chongjin, Hamhung, and Musudan-ri in North Korea, boarding vessels belonging to the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet to reach Vladivostok, Russia. They are expected to undergo adaptation training before being deployed to the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

On the day, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol presided over an emergency security meeting. The South Korean presidential office stated that South Korea has been closely monitoring the relevant developments of North Korea dispatching troops to Russia, and will continue to closely monitor the situation and actively take measures to respond in the future.
