"Strategic emerging industries and future industries represent the direction of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. Accelerating development and fighting new industries is the key for the country to develop new productive forces, cultivate new development momentum, and create new advantages in the future." Yang Changli, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., said that while its own high-quality development, CGNPC attaches great importance to upstream and downstream cooperation in the industrial chain and the creation of an ecosystem, and works with all parties in technology research and development, market expansion, and industrial chain joint construction. Work together to build a strategic emerging industrial cluster with global competitiveness.

It is reported that CGNPC's strategic emerging industries such as new energy, non-power nuclear technology, digitalization, technology-based environmental protection and industrial finance have driven the common high-quality development of more than 12000 companies upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.

The achievements of 67 battles and new industries are displayed in a centralized manner

Many have reached international leading levels

CGNPC started in the construction of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant. For more than 40 years, it has actively implemented national strategic requirements and created a "6+1" industrial system for nuclear energy, nuclear fuel, new energy, non-power nuclear technology, digitalization, technology-based environmental protection and industrial finance. Compared with the classification of national war new industries, CGNPC's "6+1" industries basically belong to the category of strategic emerging industries, with strategic emerging industries accounting for more than 75% of revenue, ranking among the top among central enterprises.

"In order to accelerate the development of strategic emerging industries, CGNPC Research has formulated seven major industrial development plans for nuclear energy leadership, nuclear fuel safety, new energy doubling, digital leap, nuclear technology breakthroughs, a strong foundation for scientific and technological environmental protection, and the launch of future industries." Li Yilun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., said that relying on the construction of new industries, CGNPC has cultivated core technology products such as electron beam processing of special waste and independent nuclear-level digital instrument and control platform "Harmony System". At the meeting, CGNPC concentrated on displaying 67 representative achievements in the development of new industries.

"Focusing on the pain points and difficulties in the development of the new energy industry, CGNPC has gathered scientific research strength to achieve a number of technological breakthroughs. The spherical joint we independently developed for trough solar power collectors has broken the monopoly of foreign technology, and the cost is only 50% of that of similar foreign products." Zhang Zhiwu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China General Nuclear Power New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., introduced that the joint is internationally leading in technical indicators such as maintenance performance and has the conditions for batch application in trough solar thermal power stations, and can fully realize manufacturing substitution in China.

At this meeting, the contracted projects focused on strategic emerging industries, mainly including new energy, non-power nuclear technology, water environmental protection, automation instruments, future industries, scientific and technological innovation and other fields. The contracted companies included China Dongfang Electric Group Co., Ltd., Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd., LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., BYD Co., Ltd., etc.

Zhang Yanjun, director, general manager and deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of China Dongfang Electric Group Co., Ltd., said that Dongfang Electric will further strengthen all-round cooperation with China Guangdong Nuclear Power and other sister companies in the coordinated sailing of nuclear power, gas and electricity, wind power, solar energy, and hydropower to realize the integration and complementary advantages of industrial chain resources, promote innovation in basic research and applied research and development, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Shi Bing, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd., said that CGNPC's various industrial companies will adapt to new trends and new requirements for industry development, and further promote the integrated development of industrial chains with an open, collaborative, progressive and win-win mentality. Chain action, join hands with all parties in the industry to promote the integrated development of strategic emerging industrial chains.

High-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road"

Drive 1.54 GW of new energy equipment to "go global"

While focusing on the domestic market, CGNPC relies on the construction of overseas new energy projects and joins hands with the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to "go to sea on the same boat" to solidly promote the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" joint construction.

Shi Weiqi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China General Nuclear Energy International Holdings Co., Ltd., introduced that in the field of wind power, the Brazilian TN wind power project independently constructed by CGNPC will be put into operation in 2023, successfully bringing Chinese wind turbine equipment into the Brazilian new energy market and driving 24 upstream and downstream companies in the industrial chain went to sea together. At the same time, a total of 20 well-known local Brazilian booster station equipment suppliers, booster station service suppliers, and civil engineering suppliers also participated in the construction of this project. It has driven local investment of more than 270 million yuan and created more than 1000 local jobs.

In addition, in the field of maintenance, Malaysia's Kima Power Plant introduced Chinese maintenance technical strength during the 10-year overhaul, overcoming many key technical challenges, achieving comprehensive excellence in key indicators such as overhaul quality, cost, and unit efficiency, and improving unit efficiency by 3%, providing a "Chinese solution" for the technological upgrade of key equipment in overseas power plants.

Among the projects signed at this meeting, there are many overseas projects.

For example, at the meeting site, CGNPC Energy International signed cooperation agreements with China Energy Construction Corporation, Northern International and other construction units on the construction of clean energy projects in Laos, Bangladesh, and South Africa, with a cumulative contract amount of more than 6 billion yuan. According to estimates, relying on the construction of the first phase project in Laos and TFC in South Africa, a total of 1.54 GW of photovoltaic modules and wind turbine equipment production capacity will be driven out.

Chamsavin Bennon, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines of Laos, said that Laos is located in the Indochina Peninsula of Southeast Asia and has unique resource advantages such as wind, light, and water, and is committed to building a "battery" in Southeast Asia. The economic development of Southwest China, which is close to Laos, continues to accelerate and electricity demand continues to grow. The interconnection model can organically combine Laos 'rich natural resources with China's vast power needs to achieve resource sharing, market complementarity and industrial synergy.

According to the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Further Deepening the CGNPC Northern Laos Clean Energy Base Project" jointly signed by CGNPC Laos and the Lao government in 2023, integrated clean energy bases such as scenery, water and storage will be built in three northern provinces of Laos.

"At present, the preliminary work of the project is progressing smoothly and has entered the preparatory stage for the planned start of construction. If everything goes well, it is expected that the 1-million-kilowatt project in the first phase of the Laos project will officially start construction as soon as April and at the latest as May this year." Li Yilun revealed.

Regarding the future development route, Shi Weiqi introduced that CGNPC Energy International will focus on the development of overseas clean energy projects and actively participate in the division of labor and cooperation of the global industrial chain. First, it will effectively play the leading role of "chain leader" and realize joint efforts with China and local industrial chains. Serve the development of power in the host country; second, the "chain" will be extended and expanded to strive for breakthroughs, vertically expand the types of wind energy procurement, and horizontally extend to equipment and construction procurement from other business formats; The third is to strive to release the "link" cluster effect, deepen domestic and regional coordination, connect developing countries and supplier partners, promote the coordinated development of the industrial chain at home and abroad, upstream and downstream, and create complementary advantages, clear division of labor, resource sharing, and win-win benefits. Industrial ecosystem.
