According to experts cited by Reuters on the given date, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) may appoint a new leader stationed outside of Gaza to replace Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

The report states that Hamas, in discussing leadership candidates, "must consider not only the preferences of its main supporter Iran, but also the interests of Qatar, a Gulf Arab country, as all the main candidates for its political bureau leadership currently reside in Qatar."

Previous reports stated that on the night of the event, the Israeli military and the Israeli National Security Agency issued a joint statement claiming that Sinwar had been killed during Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.

According to CNN's report on the 10th, Kugel, the chief pathologist at Israel's National Forensic Center who conducted the autopsy on Sinwar's body, stated that Sinwar's cause of death was "gunshot to the head."
