Implementation of PetroChina Headquarters Office Building

Annual operation carbon neutrality

In order to implement the group company's green and low-carbon development strategy, in 2023, PetroChina will vigorously implement energy-saving, carbon-reduction and clean replacement projects in its headquarters office buildings. By optimizing lighting systems and updating air-conditioning operation models, it will save electricity compared with the previous year. 30%, the total annual energy consumption cost is 18% lower than 2010. At the same time, we have effectively saved energy and reduced consumption by vigorously promoting measures such as paperless conference systems.

PetroChina mainly achieved carbon neutrality in the headquarters building by adopting Yumen Oilfield's own green certificate to completely replace power emissions and adopting thousands of acres of "red south beam forest" in Changqing Oilfield to offset natural gas and heat emissions.

PetroChina, whose headquarters office is located in the core government area of Beijing City, is actively carrying out energy-saving technological transformation and using its own resources to voluntarily reduce carbon emissions. This has a positive demonstration and leading role in demonstrating PetroChina's good image of green and low-carbon development, guiding the low-carbon transformation of group companies 'office buildings, and advocating a strict frugal work style.

In the next step, PetroChina Headquarters will also increase efforts to reduce carbon emissions by increasing carbon reduction and energy-saving technological transformation, continue to advocate measures such as green travel and low-carbon work and lifestyle, and serve as a demonstration for the green and low-carbon operation of office buildings affiliated to the group company.

④ Green certificate

Green certificate, that is, renewable energy green power certificate, is an electronic certificate with a unique identification code issued for green power issued by renewable energy power generation projects. It is the only proof of the environmental attributes of renewable energy electricity, and it is also the identification of green power production and consumption. The only certificate, one green certificate unit corresponds to 1000 degrees of renewable energy electricity. It is an international common practice to use green certificates to identify the green attributes of renewable energy and encourage users to purchase green certificates to reflect green electricity consumption.

▲ Red Nanliang Forest

The Red Nanliang Forest is located in Nanliang Town, Huachi County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province. It is constructed by Changqing Oilfield. It uses public welfare funds from the "I Plant Trees for Carbon Neutralization" activity jointly carried out by PetroChina and China Greening Foundation to plant 167,100 mixed forests totaling 1052 acres of carbon neutrality forest, taking into account biodiversity protection.
