Recently, the China-Nordic Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and a series of economic and trade negotiation activities between Hubei, China, and Europe were held in Wuhan. During the forum, multiple projects were signed, covering areas such as new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, modern services, energy conservation and environmental protection, artificial intelligence, modern chemical engineering and energy, and low-altitude economy, with a total contract value of . billion yuan.

The China-Nordic Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum is the first and only international forum event in China specifically targeting the Nordic countries, serving as a microcosm of China's deepening cooperation with these nations. In recent years, under the overall framework of China-EU economic and trade cooperation, the scope, scale, and quality of China's economic and trade cooperation with the Nordic countries have continuously expanded and improved. From January to October this year, the trade volume between China and the five Nordic countries reached $175.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%.

This solid growth not only demonstrates China's unwavering commitment to further opening up but also fully showcases the recognition and confidence of foreign investors in the potential opportunities of the Chinese market. Jens Eskelund, President of the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU, stated, "We are increasingly seeing that European countries have realized that opportunities not only exist in China's coastal provinces but also in the central regions of China. We have noticed that Hubei enterprises are very interested in investing in Europe, especially in Northern Europe, and hope for more cooperation opportunities in the future."

Hanning, the head of Innovation Norway China and the commercial counsellor of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in China, stated that Norway conducts an annual survey on business expectations for future commercial prospects, and over % of entrepreneurs are optimistic about the Chinese market. According to relevant officials from the Department of Commerce of Hubei Province, the foreign investment projects signed during the forum mainly come from countries and regions such as France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, and Estonia. Among them, the Dongbao District Government of Jingmen City signed a project with Salema Construction Technology Co., Ltd. for the Jingmen Estonia Salema Wooden Structure Prefabricated Housing Manufacturing Industrial Park. The first phase plans to build a manufacturing base for integrated wooden structure buildings. The project is planned to invest in billions of yuan.

This is our third investment in Jingmen. The first investment was for production, the second for design and R&D, and the third for operations, with the second and third investments being only months apart," said Fei Ying, Executive Director of Nordic Salama Holding Company, headquartered in Saaremaa, Estonia.

The current world is undergoing an accelerated evolution of unprecedented changes in a century, with the global economy facing numerous uncertainties. China remains unwavering in expanding high-level openness, polishing the golden sign of "Invest in China," and expanding cooperation areas with Nordic countries to share the benefits of development. In recent months, the State Council has issued the "Opinions on Further Optimizing the Foreign Investment Environment and Increasing the Attraction of Foreign Investment." Yan Ci believes that the 28 measures listed in the opinions will help foreign-invested enterprises develop. The China-EU Chamber of Commerce will continue to support more European enterprises in coming to China, investing in Hubei, and sharing new opportunities for cooperation.

"Green development is the foundation of future high-quality development, and there is complementary potential in the field of green development between Chinese and European enterprises. We believe that a significant amount of green fuels needed in Europe will be produced in China in the future. At the same time, many other European companies possess excellent decarbonization technologies that can be applied in China. Europe and China need to work together to find solutions to help us address climate change," Yan Ci further stated.
