The case involving the alleged bribery of Peng Guofu, former member of the Party Leadership Group and副主任 of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, has been concluded by the National Supervisory Commission. Designated by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, it is being reviewed for prosecution by the First Branch of the People's Procuratorate of Hainan Province. Recently, the First Branch of the People's Procuratorate of Hainan Province has filed an indictment with the First Intermediate People's Court of Hainan Province.

The procuratorial organs' indictment alleges that defendant Peng Guofu, using his positions as the Party Secretary of Xiangtan University, the Party Secretary of Huaihua City, Hunan Province, the Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, sought benefits for others and illegally accepted property from others, with the amount being particularly huge. He should be investigated for criminal liability for bribery in accordance with the law.
