Arrested on the spot, the suspect still showed arrogance. A man in his late sixties in Shanghai, claiming to be a "retired major general," swindled nearly a million yuan by falsely promising "guaranteed admission to military academies even with insufficient scores." The Hongkou Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau arrested the suspect, Shi, in Shaoxing, Zhejiang.

At the arrest scene, facing the police officer Shi, the suspect's attitude was extremely defiant. "Where did you get that military uniform?" "Why should I tell you?"

After that, Shi first requested tens of thousands of yuan from the parents through Ms. Hui under the pretexts of treating school leaders to meals and gifts, military training fees, and transfer fees. When the time for college enrollment arrived, Ms. Hui and her friends became anxious. To fabricate reasons for the parents to continue transferring money, Shi even staged a "college entrance exam" himself. At the time, Ms. Hui and her friends were unaware that the exam was just one part of Shi's designed scam.

Mr. Shi used fake military uniforms, fake certificates, and fake exam papers to portray himself as a so-called successful person with status and connections in the eyes of parents. In reality, he was just a professor or a leader.
